Poetry – the city of progress

Webs of smoke hung mid air

leaving the building-tops unfocused and seeming to go up forever

undeterred they swarmed clicking the wet asphalt creating an atmosphere of noise.

then silence.

no one in sight, an empty model of a city, unused.

occupying towers of concrete and steel, where they learn life is precious.

the real world tries to make contact, like a

flower peeping out of a crack in the pavement

only to be stepped on and put back in it’s place.

How to get a woman to Marry you

As I mentioned in my earlier post I knew exactly what I was looking for in a woman so when I came across her I was going to let her know.

I was looking for;

  • Someone dedicated to having a family; I’m not going to beg and plead to have children when she doesn’t want them.
  • A smart woman; despite many women “trying” to act stupid most are intelligent if you con them into a proper conversation on their own.
  • A hard-working woman; Hey if she works hard as a single woman then she will have no problem working alongside me to raise our children.
  • Someone I was attracted to; Ladies you may think that you are ugly but, lose the make up and dress like a modest lady, speak to guys you find interesting and see your luck change.
  • Someone who had their own “wholesome” convictions and would not sacrifice what they believed in for anyone.

So I met her

I started a new job and there she was, I liked her and I let her  know by my actions. I’m no sleaze, I would speak to her about everything even marriage and children to see what her reaction would be.

She passed the first test, she didn’t run. But she did have a boyfriend.

So what do you do when a girl you really like has a boyfriend

Nothing, just wait.

If she is content with her boyfriend so be it. It’s not the end of the world.

But at the same time, don’t give up, don’t drop your convictions to suddenly like everything she likes and don’t be a sleaze.

It just so happens that she was with this guy just to be with someone so they decided to go their separate ways.

When I found out she was single, then we exchanged numbers and began our getting to know each-other phase.

To cut a long story short we were married only months later and now have three children with number four on the way.

So persistence, truth, bravery and sticking to your convictions is how you get a woman to marry you.

But sorry guys it doesn’t end there so a word of caution if you’re not ready to put in a lifetime of hard work for this person, then just stay at home with your parents.

Are you looking for work?

What type of work are you looking for?

I think that the job market is very hard to get into.

Many companies are resorting to hire casuals rather than full-time employees; leaving job security a thing of the past.

So what do we need to do?

What everybody needs to do is upskill themselves, take on some courses to learn more talents, but be careful only take courses that will better your chance of landing the job you want.

Some industries are thriving so you need to get into these ones;

Truck driving

Council and government administration

Mortgage, financial advising and banking

The other industries seem to be declining and in order to secure yourself in the workforce you need to think about becoming a supervisor or manager at your current job or choose to get out and jump into another industry.

Those with degrees, masters and PHD’s are a little better off.

But those of us who have the basic high-school education need to secure some type of work.

Multiple incomes

Once we have a secure job we should seek other sources of income. We need to use our talents to get ahead.

Whether we try our hand at;

Arts and crafts

We need those multiple incomes streams to keep us going through the hard times that seem t come more ad more often these days.

The Master Plan

The world will be convinced that life is everlasting.

We must accumulate more possessions than we can afford.

Adorn the latest fashion that others export to our shores.

And those who sell us remedies created the inflicting cause.

Everyone is a number, consumers with hollow bellies.

A statistic in the making. A sucker for the taking.

A mind in tune with Hollywood but ignorant of its surroundings.

Education will not be enough, it’s fame that keeps resounding.

God is lost behind receipts and science nurses many.

Fatty food is Oh so cheap.

With minimum wage our future is bleak.

A few men think but many speak, the problems are remaining.

A deadly cocktail for the mind the media has us hypnotized.

Useless things fill up our thoughts.

Fornication, money, sports. Distract us and divide us up.

When we don’t talk we have no trust.

Materialistic selfish ponce,

who clings to earth is what they want.

A reckless spendthrift prejudice curse,

Who’d steal from his own mother’s purse.

Enslave the globe to serve the rich.

Between the lines of the marketing pitch.

Many wars to kill the stubborn,

those who oppose their evil drumming.

Destroy the family unit at home.

Forced segregation upon the whole globe.

The banks put us in cages they rightfully own.

Our whole lives paying mortgage loans.

Now they start to help us think,

make our decisions so we can win

a spot in their production line

a harsh tomorrow we’ll see in time.

What is the best job for me?

Recently my sister chose to cut her Aged Care course short because as she explains “They never mentioned at the beginning that we’d have to wipe old people’s bums.” Nice.

Government funded courses

Here in Australia the government actually funds courses for those who have no degrees or certificates. And that’s great. But it is to fill low paying hard working jobs most of them casual positions which leave you with no security in the long run.

The suitable long term job

With my sister’s case I suggested that she rethink her job seeking and take into consideration, her age, the fact that she is female, her experience and the time of day she is available.

The jobs that governments push are in Aged Care, Warehousing, Factory machine workers, Childcare workers and Road construction workers.

All of these are fine professions and if you are passionate about them then go right ahead and take advantage.

But the vast majority of people don’t want these jobs and just go for it anyway out of desperation.

Australia’s future

You need to think logically, think of what we are becoming as a Nation.

What types of work will be available in the future?

We will see more and more factories appear and most jobs will become casual as it benefits the employers.

1. Recruitment agencies

Any job working for a recruitment agency will see you live comfortably into the near future, we need recruiters to hire the future casuals for tomorrow’s factories and employee-revolving businesses.

2. Manager, Supervisors, Leaders

Becoming a Manager/Supervisor is also a good way of keeping full time work as the casuals will need competent managers to keep them in check.

3. Council and Government jobs

Let’s face it, we aren’t taking down the government anytime soon so there will be a great career working for our superfluous leaders.

4. Psychologist

If you are still young and have the drive then the world is not getting any easier so you will have plenty of “clients”.

5. Any outdoor physical work

Let’s face it we all need sun and exercise so to get paid to be outside on a nice day is just awesome. I have held many jobs as a labourer but they are very temperamental at time.
The ideal thing would be to build up your skills and go out working for yourself, have it as a fallback plan.

The necessity of multiple incomes

Many have said it and written about it, we must secure ourselves by having multiple incomes or at least the skills to obtain work in different areas when one becomes redundant.

Particular and Industrious

I’ve often pondered the differences between men and women and only now, married with three children do I see them much clearer.

Of course this cannot be said for all men and women but for the majority I believe this to be true.

Women are particular

and Men are industrious.

When a task must be done women concentrate more on the fine details; for example planting a tree.

But rather men just get to digging with or without gloves, rain or shine.

Men seem more focused on getting the job done and women more focused on how the job is done.

Both ways are different, yet both necessary to complete every task, therefore we need to work together to get things done as best they can.

Just a thought.

What do you think?
